As you prepare for your holiday at Lower Coombe Royal, you will probably think of things you'd like to arrange in advance. Below we have included some information on local services that our guests often ask us about.

Food shopping/ordering

We provide all guests with starter supplies of organic welcome items including tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt and pepper, porridge and Susi's homemade organic muesli.

For guests staying a week or more, we also provide a complimentary hamper of organic and/or local produce and treats.

If you would like to order further supplies either just before or during your stay, here are some suggestions:

Riverford Delivers organic fruit & vegetables/salad in season boxes, dairy and meat boxes too

Red Earth Kitchen Will deliver frozen free-range delicious Ready Meals, or you can visit their shop in Kingsbridge and stock up

Aune Valley Local meat, dairy, preserves, bakery, juices, smokehouse and chilli products. Wonderful local service, free delivery

The Local Food Company A local, greener alternative to the supermarket, they supply food, groceries, household and toiletries. Delivery £5.00

Tesco and Sainsbury's will deliver - as much as we do not like to promote supermarkets, they are a necessity at times! Delivery £5.00

For reference, our address and postcode is Lower Coombe Royal, Kingsbridge, TQ7 4AD. Please quote the name of the property you are staying in and let us know in advance if you are ordering any food for delivery before your arrival, so that we can make arrangements to receive and store it for you correctly in your accommodation.

Babysitters

We maintain a list of local babysitters who have been interviewed and used by Susi in the past and many of our guests. References have also been taken and most babysitters have been CRB checked and/or have a First Aid certificate. Please ask if you are interested in booking a babysitter and we will provide you with details including feedback from other parents. If you have young children, this list will be automatically sent out with your final details when coming to stay with us.

Hen House - Fitness, health & beauty treatments. For a wonderful massage in the privacy of your own property, call Liz on 07971 106572, or alternatively visit the Hen House for a wider range of options.

Acupuncture Cornelia Davies acupuncture in Loddiswell or Kingsbridge. It worked for Susi!

Reflexology Anna Turns reflexology in Churchstow. Re-balance your body with a foot massage. She also specialises in maternity reflexology.

Dartmouth Golf & Country Club We can offer our guests 25% off Leisure Club day memberships & Golf Club green fees with Privilege Plus. We will supply you with a voucher on request. Please note: tee times may be booked up to 7 days in advance.

Premier Valeting - Excellent car valeting service, inside and out. Call John on 07727 156677 and he will come to Lower Coombe Royal.

Getting around

If you would prefer to travel on public transport while in South Devon, this is a helpful website.

Bicycles

To hire bicycles while you are here, try Hot Pursuit Cycles or B R Trott - both shops are in Totnes. Alternatively if you would prefer to have hire bikes delivered to your accommodation, contact Ride-On South West. A word of caution: the roads are narrow and hilly - best to stay on the cycle trails!
