The Lawn Apartment has a large private terrace from where you can step straight onto the lawns. Previously the servants living quarters, we have restored and transformed this part of the house into a charming 5-star holiday apartment. It is ideal for a family of four and also suitable for two couples holidaying together, as it offers both comfort and privacy. Parents can keep an eye on their children at play while relaxing on the terrace, or toddlers can play safely within the fenced and gated decking. With its own secluded entrance and under cover parking, you can stay dry if it rains, or climb into a cool car when its sunny. Once you have come through the front door and up a flight of stairs, the apartment is all on one level.

Should you wish to come as an extended family or with some friends, the Lawn Apartment can be opened up to include the Royal House both upstairs and downstairs to make a much larger property. The dining table in the Royal House is large enough to accommodate you all as well. So ideal for a special occasion; anniversairy or during the festive season. Please note, if you decide to bring a dog, there is an extra charge of £50 per dog per week.

Sleeping

The master bedroom faces south-west, overlooking the ponds and fields beyond. An antique English oak double bed with Hypnos mattress (L195cm x W137cm) is complemented by a French antique walnut wardrobe and a mahogany chest of drawers. The en suite shower room has a fully tiled walk-in shower (a step above floor level), a larger basin, toilet and a heated towel rail and complimentary organic toiletries. The second bedroom faces the lawns. It has a pair of wooden single beds (L190cm x W105cm), or ample space for two cots instead, if required. There is a built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers and an original mantelpiece. The main bathroom includes a bath and shower, as well as basin, toilet, under-floor heating and a heated towel rail. We will occasionally consider an extra cot yet this is at our discretion and a surcharge will apply.

Living

The open-plan living area is divided into three separate spaces. All the curtains and upholstery in the apartment are Vanessa Arbuthnott cotton/linen fabrics, chosen to reflect the natural world surrounding you. The kitchen has an integral dishwasher, larder fridge and freezer, electric oven and gas hob. There is plenty of crockery, glasses and cookware for meals in, as well as useful gadgets such as a microwave, a food blender and a juicer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in the Laundry Room, which can be seen from the kitchen window, and two washing lines are provided, one under cover in the Laundry Room and another in the covered parking area. The dining area has a round table and four chairs. In the living room, there are two comfortable sofas, a 23'' flat screen TV with Sky non-subscription channels and a DVD player, a radio/CD and an iPod player. A selection of DVDs is available from Reception. For holiday entertainment, we have also provided a choice of books and games. On warm days, open the garden door and stroll out onto the private terrace where a wooden table with a parasol and reclining chairs beckons. Here you can eat al fresco, cook on the barbecue, or just relax in peace and enjoy the view. The children's play area is only 2 minutes away from your terrace for all to explore.
