| As you have probably gathered by now, we are located in a wonderful haven and environmentally safe, eight acres of gardens. Some have described them as a ‘Swallows and Amazons’ experience or even ‘Famous Five’! We are slowly restoring the gardens so that all can enjoy them – from adults to children!
As you wander around you should find a rope and tyre swing, a hammock, rope ladders and home made tree houses. Also plenty of trees to climb and dens to make!
We also have a wonderful Nature Trail developed by Wildlife Wonders. There is a map of our gardens available in your accommodation which assists you in finding our wildlife treasures, of which there are plenty!
If you are a keen bird and animal watcher, you will not be disappointed! If you are awake early, then you will hear our resident owls and perhaps the fox. Later in the day as the thermals improve, our resident buzzard will call to her young across the valley. You will also here the rhythmic knocking of the woodpecker, the spotted fly catcher can be seen nearer the Royal House and all sorts of creatures can be found around the ponds.
Take the time to rest a while and wait for what you can see and hear! |
