Susi, Paul, Amber and Barney, along with their labrador Ella and three cats, Thick, Chilli and Sauce, live at Lower Coombe Royal. We will be your hosts and make you as welcome as we can to Lower Coombe Royal. For us, it is a place where we can relax and be together and at the same time run an ecologically friendly holiday business set in a wonderful natural environment of eight acres.

Having sailed around the world with the British Steel Challenge in 1992, weathered a couple of redundancies and working away from home, we decided to set our sails and take on another challenge and re-group as a family again!

We moved here in Autumn 2005 knowing what we liked when staying away for a week or three (rarely finding it!) and hoping to offer that for others. It allowed us to take a step sideways from the hectic lives that we were living and concentrate more on being together. Now that we have our desired lifestyle, we want to be able to offer you yours!

As a part of our life, we endeavor to live in a way that allows the world to suffer as little as possible from our presence, and in fact, can positively flourish!  For that reason, we grow as much of our own organic food as we can. We only use non-harmful cleaning products in our home and in the cottages. We also aim to work with and use local suppliers - Devon has a wealth of local producers of fresh and often organic produce. We also endeavor to recycle as much as we can, particularly within the gardens. In addition, we use sustainable energy sources and are currently researching the idea of a swimming pond, opening up our ancient well and hydro-power!

Lower Coombe Royal is located in the South Hams Area of Natural Beauty and sits in its own O zone area surrounded by numerous trees both ancient and young - so come and breath in some real fresh air.......and relax!
