With all the leaves now falling, yet again, it's down to our Maple by the ponds to give us a fantastic splash of colour.

Autumn

Autumn

Wednesday 19th October 2011

After a couple of weeks of lovely warm 'Indian Summer' weather, it really does feel like Autumn is now here with night time temperatures now dropping below 5c. The Oak trees seem to be hanging onto their leaves a lot longer than any of the other trees. The Estate now has beautiful shades of green and brown everywhere with the Hydrangeas still giving us some wonderful white and blue blooms. The fruit of the Cornus capitata are just starting to ripen which will give the Blackbirds and Thrushes a fantastic feast towards the end of the season and into the beginning of Winter.
